the way the article reads, i got to wonder if the "duster" wasnt truly a pinto?

Any car can explode from a higher speed rear ended impact. Especially from a car the sits lower.

Just a terrible incident.

I can understand a non-moving vehicle parked on/in a median, WTF was the Honda doing?

Read 2nd article, nevermind....what a horrible thing, God rest the Passenger's soul, & help that poor Kid & loved ones deal with the aftermath.

I didn't see a second article... looked like Romano was at fault, from what i read... God ease the pain of All Involved..

Someone has died and you want to be a comedian?
no, just finding it hard to believe

im not saying it cant be (shoot, i saw a modern dart burn to the ground just a few months ago)
it just seems so outlandish

Rear tank close to the bumper is a big target against a moving vehicle. I'll agree that it's a low percent chance that it will happen, but this time it did.

duster exploding upon impact

The article didn't say it "exploded upon impact" it said...

"As a result, the Plymouth became engulfed in flames."

Any one of a number of things could have caused it after getting rear ended.

Could have been the kids girlfriend in the passenger seat. Regardless who it was, it's horrible.
