Good deal or not?

Depends on the rear end…..

I know Greg is very happy being off the Island!
Now you just gotta retire out of Ct.!

How are you liking it so far Pete? I have family on the coast. Always a nice trip to see them. Nice country and people. Accents on the west side are thick! But super pleasant they are.
Very happy so far.

There are still good deals to be made. Just like finding good and desirable projects back in the 80s 90s, 2000 ...it did and still takes work to find them,, most usually. I have bought all my projects at fair prices over the years. I do MY own work. That makes a difference when I let one go.
Sometimes good luck is just beginners luck!

I don't know. Only cost me $50 more to get this one and it was a running/driving car. That was 39 years ago, though.

If my math is right, that would have been what 1983????? I know that was a bargain at $50 for sure, but don't get the "rest" of us old farts talking about "those" days!!!!!:poke:

Peter. You quit that braggin. You know it's a good deal ya dork. lol

That was $50 MORE or $1,550. Yeah, they were the good old days, but I don't think I was making that much per month at that time...Certainly couldn't afford to buy the car today...

I bought a complete 69 Roadrunner roller, with a bare block in about '88 for $50. I sold it to a guy for a parts car for $500. It was F8 faded ugly and rust free! ha
A few years later that guy called me up and sold me all of its parts, another rust free RR roller plus complete 6 pac engine 4 speeds, tons of parts. Wife demanded it all leave their high $ sububan home!! But thats another story!:poke:

That was a dang good deal! Welcome to NC. Looks like you're in the eastern part of the state somewhere.....so good luck getting grass to grow in the sand! I think I may have talked to you at Rockingham yesterday about the small bolt pattern Centerlines from your wife's car, and didn't even realize it was you.

The days of finding solid rollers for $1500 are long gone....unless you are one lucky dude!!!!!
That makes me think Im getting old!!! I never paid more than $500 for any of the 5 complete but non-running, rust free big block '68 Chargers I had "back in the day". I DID really go crazy once and pay $600 for a rust-free but incomplete 70 Challenger that I drove home once though...

i looked thru all the messages of congrats on the buy. congratulations from me also. but a word of advice. you stole that car and if you hear a knock on the door and look out the window and see it is the cops "RUN FOREST RUN". HAHAHAHA.

That's not fair, I wasn't even born yet. Why oh why wasn't I around in those days lol.

I've seen several 6 cyl HIP paint cars.

Unusual, yes.

Even V8 or HP HIP cars are somewhat unusual.

Rani, you are known as an "old soul", that is a person thdeply at relates to times past. Who knows, maybe you were a person living in the early 1900s that was armpit deep in mechanicals or auto things, passed, and later reincarnated.

You Know that is a Screaming good deal, this was justa bragggg :)

I once found an orange duster twister behind a service station. It had orange interior too, very strange looking car. Slant six but still had pieces of the sharkstooth grill on it. Sadly the car suffered a bad collision to the front. Had I known any better I should have snagged all of the interior. This was back around 1990.

had we all known better...I would have needed an airplane hanger to put all the cars I've bought...

I finally figured that out.

8500 square feet was enough to store my cars and have some left over to rent out to others so they could pay for it all.

It's a good deal if you want it, need it, put it back on the road, sell it or part it out. If its sits in the back or side yard and rots, it's not a good deal. I hope it's a GOOD DEAL for you.
