340 cam in a 318

That's good to know. Most every discussion about using a 340 cam (or a bigger one) is that it's soft on the bottom end and it idles roughat idle and you have a issue with a stock converter with too low of a stall. No reason to rip the u joints out every time you shift out of park into gear.
It was a little soft on the zero to 20 mph, but not dead. I could still get rubber from my P245/60R14's on a smooth road. It didn't spin on chip seal. However, once it hit about 35 mph with the 2.76's and stock converter, it would outpull any 318 2bbl cam.
