Darn allergies

S E TEXAS. Spring here!!!! We go from Pine tree pollen, that is huge particles and does not affect you to Oak that gives you major grief. I have not had hay fever in decades but for the last week it was Hell. Blame it on the vax!???
Med makes too sleepy and I felt like chit anyway. Count was a record high of 12,000 and down to a high enough of 1200.
Bottom line is this old retired soul did nothing with a car for a week and it HURT!!!!! I pulled out a car and washed it yesterday and it felt so wonderful!!!!

Hope this helps??.................When COVID hit I started wearing a mask anytime I was awake. I have really bad allergies, Oak and grass and weeds, pollen, etc. We have three Oak trees and they shed leaves and flowers all the time. I noticed that after wearing the COVID mask for over a year that I hadn't had any alleries at all. I have continued to wear the mask whenever I'm awake but only to control my allergies. Now that the mask mandates have decreased I don't see many folks wearing a mask. I still wear mine even though I've had all my shots and have a very good immune system. I get lots of folks (and friends) asking me why I still wear a mask and I always tell them..................I love not sneezzing all night in bed and all day (not to mention sinus infections!!). I love not keeping my wife awake all night as I clear my throat and sneeze and spit. I really love not feeling congested 24/7. I will continue to wear my mask even though COVID is no longer a threat and I'm sure I will continue to be criticized for wearing my mask. To hell with everyone who don't like me wearing a mask. I do it for my health and to not be all messed up because of allergies. I have had almost two years of clear sinuses now and I would have never discovered that there was a cure for my allergies unless COIVD had come to the US!!! FYI - Allergy medications have never worked for me!!

If I had to ear a mask all the time, I just soon cut my throat. You are a stronger man than me!!
What really got to me, was the fact I flt like doing nothing, and that alone makes me feel terrible physically and mentally. I can't do anything like what I used to but I have always got a lot of satisfation out of doing something!!! Even if wrong!!

Same here.... I hate feeling sick from allergies. I lose 1 or 2 days (sometimes more days) of my life everytime my alleries flare up. My wife gets no sleep when I have allergies. I can understand that you don't want to wear a mask....I would also prefer to not wear anything!! But at my age every single day is a gift and I don't want to waste them feeling like crap. Look up LDI on the internet for allergy treatment. I am in Hawaii, so I can't help you in Texas, but I am sure they have a Doc in Texas that does it- LDI or LDA- stands for low dose immunotherapy or low dose Allergens. My clinic has over 100 patients doing it, it's amazing. Doesn''t cost much so big pharma don't like it. But lots of custom small clinics do it across the mainland.

I had it twice- you probably have the omicron, so should just be like a bad cold.

Oh sorry, was trying to be upbeat more than make light of the situation, is it pretty bad for you then? I had the Delta, which was pretty bad, but the omicron for me was a head cold level irritation.
