so i removed the intake manifold off my 360 to install an edelbrock intake...took a pic today of the cam...wanted to know if anything jumps out at any of you since i have a view of it. This car is just gonna be a fun driver...not a track car...so what you all think of what you see?

Peaks of the lobes are worn, hard to tell more from the pic.

When was that engine last run?? Everything looks “dry

Here is what a new 340 cam looks like for comparison, (Melling SPD-22)

Who cut the journals? That's diverting oil from the journal and into the SIDE of maybe one lifter/lobe and then into the crank below.

It's a test fit camshaft that we use when installing new cam bearings. Reliefs purposely cut, gives any cam bearing burs a place to go as you are doing the fitting process.

After it fits nice, then you take it out and install the permanent new camshaft.

Looks like a used cam looks. I would keep running it.

make sure to clean out all the foreign material in the valley there, don’t leave it there.

No way to tell just from that photo. We'd need a closeup of each lobe where we can see the peaks and ramps.

Sometimes things aren't Picture Perfect AKA textbook. So with that said..
As long as the lifters aren't cupped, the lobe isn't pitted... and they all share the same profile/shape 'to the eye'....
Then leave it be.
Fact is... the lobe is ground with some taper that is meant to spin the lifter...and what we're looking for is a shiny Trail that's to 'one side' of the lobe.
