is this legal?

A lot of part's of the country people are living in Tent's. He's probably helping somebody out for a bit. He could have made it look nicer but his house. I don't think I would like it either. But, I would probably turn a blind eye for a while.

Apparently you’ve never lived in a house with hot water/boiler heat? A bit self righteous and judgmental?
Huh? Yes I have lived in a house with a boiler. For better than 30 years now.

I got a registration ticket for my truck in my driveway with expired tags.....wtf? My neighbor parks his in his driveway on concrete slab. Look tacky but.....heck I got a code enforcement courtesy call for my truck parked on front end jackstands for 2 days...in my driveway! COVID has all hut done away with enforcement visits.

If anything that sewer hook up may be a code violation.
The clean out it’s connected to isn’t designed for that kind of hook up. If it is they should have some sort of permit for it.

That is retarded

Squatters are thieves and criminals, and should be treated as such
A friend of mine paid one $3k to move out of an adjacent dwelling on his property so he could sell his place. They left a mess too, cost another few k to clean it up. And he had to pay their utilities while they squatted, as it illegal to turn them off. And this is nothing compared to CA laws, where you must cede your property if they have lived their long enough.

Sorry to derail...

There are always two camps for these arguments

Call the authorities

We all want free countries, and no Home Owner Associations. This, unfortunately, is what we have to put up with. Wait 'til there are several in the area, and enterprising folks figure out a great way to supplement their mortgages.

I looked up our ordinance. You can park one for 30 days per calendar year (boats, trailers, campers, and motorhomes) and you may not live in it.

from what i can find things like that are supposed to be parked behind the fence line and a 72 hour limit in a driveway for cleaning and repair.

Not legal in my city in SoCal.
You can't even park in front of any house on the cul-d-sac where I live without a city permit. You can thank the parents of the various sports leagues that use the park across the steet for that. The park is on the backside of an elementary school but the parents don't park in the school parking lot. They fill up all the street and neighborhood parking because it's a few feet closer than the school lot.

Easy to be judgemental until you’re backed into a corner
Right. Not everyone is fortunate enough to live in a million dollar plus home. I think sometimes people forget there are those not as fortunate. Who knows why it's there? They may well be helping someone get back on their feet. I don't think I would be too quick to hang them.

I went to see my Father's grave in 90, from Tampa to Valparaiso. Scumbags towed my 72 Sat, 383 solid cam car. Never got it back. Cause it was in the street, in front of my house..... pricks

Maybe being a good neighbor, you might round up a few more and go over and offer to wash the thing up. Might make some new friends. Might not.
