Head ****

-
Just as a point of reference, I have an RPM head here and the intake port opening size is 2.225 x 1.110.
The Fel-Pro 1213 basket is listed as being 2.270 x 1.160.

The space from the bottom of the port to the bottom of the head is .330”, so it appears the BPE head has def had the bottom of the opening lowered.

I measured the 1213 gasket the other day. IIRC it is 2.240. The port in the head this guy is using is 2.3XX because I can’t remember the last 2 digits.

I know at some point in the design phase a head was sent down to Larry Meaux( head porter who developed Pipe Max) for him to look at. He was extremely impressed with the head.
They have been on an off the bench so much, I think it’s safe to say it’s as good as it can possibly be, for what it is. Vic is very handy, going back to his days as head porter at Hughes.
I'd guess raised .100 roof and maybe .100 lowered floor..
To get closer to 2.40's, 2.30-2.30 cs
Maybe. Idk.

Getting car out out of the showroom later this week, hope to have it done by Memorial weekend. Waiting on a buddy to get his project car out of the attached bay mine is going in. We are moving his Thursday night.
My health isn’t what it was, so gonna need a little help getting stuff done.
Anyhow, will post results after first outing, can’t wait myself

I start getting excited this time of year, been a long winter. It’s friggin 88 out today.

Do the new heads use the same length valves as the old heads?

Were the new heads milled a bunch to get the chamber volume you were after?

Not sure on valve lengths, but I suspect they are the same.
I know the spring setup is identical.
Both sets of heads were milled to get to 61ish cc
The BLP heads a bit more…15 thou or so more…time will tell

edit..valves are 30 longer

Dat’s a lot. If you had a Hyd. cam, I would not really be overly concerned, but I don’t think that’s the case…
Take it up with the adjuster?

have too look and see where I am now. Had zero pushrod issues thus far, so might have one thread either way to play with..if it’s more than that…….
Yes, I have a solid cam

I think you’ll be OK no matter what happens.
Do you have rocker shaft shims?
Quick and dirty… I know…
