I don't trust ANYthing ANYbody says about ANY trans.
I agree, kinda, just because an Ol Mopar Man, Tommy, around here, told me many years ago, the fluid soaks into the bands, from sitting. So I always have em done. There's a local Family shop, that's been Racing here for around 50 years. I just take em to em, when ever I do a build. He hooks me up

Personally, I ain't trying to sell any cores, I have 3 extra transmissions, that I pulled, myself, outta running vehicles. I kick my self in the ***, daily, for letting go, getting rid of, ect, all the Mopar Parts I had. At one point, I sold Jerry, from J@J, 5 70 Challenger grills, so I didn't have to take em home. I had 10 doors, and 4 decklids. The amount of mid 70s D Series stuff I had was sick. It sucks. That's not to mention all kinda other stuff, I'm sure most of the Members here can relate.

Yes agree, and the mopar stock that is out there now is all but evaporated, nation wide. Gone !

My 727 (340) is toast. Any recommendations for mail order companies?

Local places are not an option as i dont have the time to remove drop off and pick up amd reinstall
Looking to drop and replace in 1 day.

was talking to Rod Bloomer about my new heads couple days ago.
He asked if I knew anybody who needed a 727.
He has one with about 50 miles on it he had in a car he sold.
Some A&A parts in it, and turbo action reverse manual valve body. He said drop it in and go, zero issues.
1000 bucks.

Drop it in and go....lol..

lol
He sold a barracuda I believe as a roller and kept the driveline, had just had this tranny built. If he says it’s like brand new..it is
I have no reason to doubt you.. and I'm not certainly calling you or him a liar. Now personally like someone else commented because I've been through these transmissions enough I would take it apart just because that's what I like to do and this is my hobby...
My LOL comment was about the drop it in lol again... It's just kind of something a manager would say and expecting it done in about the amount of time it took him to say drop it in... LOL...
Did something that I always say in these transmission threads is the taking it out and putting it back in is all the labor having it out on your bench standing in front of you and rebuilding it is by far the easy part... And 10 times cheaper just by your comment alone. About a hundred bucks for a rebuild kit or a thousand bucks for it already done...

For some…. That’s easier said than done, rebuilding your own transmission. When you said, just do it yourself, you assume something of the OE poster.

good points all!
You are right.
Regards the transmission, yea Rod is a stand up guy, I am spending 3000 to buy a set of heads from him.
He just has no use for the tranny, and said if you happen to know somebody looking….
Saw this post, and just trying to help. Zero in it for me.

I can only recommend a couple of mail order bride connections... :p

Look up Mike Lasorsa on Facebook in “Mopar Hunter” group. Shows located in upstate NY. He just finished a small block 727 which is for sale. Appears to build and sell rebuilt 727’s often. Picture is a listing from last year but he has a big block trans listed and as I said, has a small block 727 he just finished

Here’s the big block 727 he has listed. $800 I see no mention as to exchange.

well it aint local to you but I just had a 94 A518 RH46 delivered from PATC (performance automotive transmission center) not sure how others on here feel about them but other than my miscalculation on spacer sizes between the FP and TC this trans is a monster. of course its a viper2 series but it sits behind a 400+ hp 360. and any help or questions ive had along the way have always been answered promptly and with the utmost respect.

maybe just take a look at the site, i know they are huge on the 727 swap to 518, pretty sure they got all kinds of 727's laying around
