Hi Folks

When you click "Watch thread" are you supposed to get alerts when a member comments on a thread?

That's what I always thought. I recently clicked "watch thread" on a MAD electrical thread. Later in the evening, I saw the post in the "new threads" section to find several replies to the said thread. I had not received any alerts for these responses??
 
When you click "watch thread" you get an option to get alerts OR an email as well.
That being said if you select "watch thread" and dont go back to view it after an alert or 2, I believe the alerts are "dropped " if that makes sense?

I've had the same issue

And I sometimes don't get them all the time either. So I don't quite understand all of it.
 
Check your "Alert Preferences" and make sure the boxes are checked that you want.
 
The alerts do not stay turned on for very long. Not sure what the timeframe is, but they are seemingly randomly dropped. I think this is a board probem.
 
Indeed a board problem.

I posted in threads yesterday and today I'm not getting alerts for any of them. Some 10 threads or so. Nothing.

Worst on this board. Happens over on fcbo too. Not as much as there isn't as much traffic as fabo.
