Hard to have a nice yard, when neighbors have a Dandelion Nursery!

Artificial grass!
Minimal maintenance, No mowing, watering, fertilizing, weeding, stays green year round…..
Pic found online.

i never understood owning property then paying someone to take care of it, i thought that was the reward of the american dream getting to work with your hands on your very own yard, now it seems to be the american greed how much can i make off my property's
It does keep you out of trouble, off the streets and out of the bars...:)

Many people have no interest in the unpaid part-time job that is maintaining a house.

2 4 D is cheap (or used to be) and so is a hand pump up 2 gal sprayer. Go over there and spray his yard after he goes to bed, and then in a couple days apologize and say your dog pissed on his whole nasty *** yard and killed them darn yard flowers!
Hit them in the spring before they make those darn seeds! For a couple of years. That will go a long way.

i was just out driving and i passed by a big meadow where some kids were playing
the girls were all adorned with dandelion chains and it reminded me of this thread

you guys are all a bunch of fuddyduddies
i challenge you to name one other flower that brought more joy to children all over the world?

and you guys want to exterminate it

for shame

Ilive in a nice neighborhood. Houses across the strett are 1,000,000+ ( no Im not rich) and try to keep the yard nice but I refuse to be anal about it. I do a pre imergant and thats about it other than pulling the real buggers by hand .
I have neighbors that break out the leaf blower every time a leaf falls ! Really !!! Maybe they shouldnt have bought in the "River Woods" subdivision ..
I miss the midwest where a nice home didnt have to have perfectly manicured yards.

Keeping my yard weed free (Picture 1) is a constant battle when you see the Dandelion Factory across the street (and upwind unfortunately). Look carefully at pictures 2 and 3. The guy is not totally an a**hole, but his property looks so bad in a very nice neighborhood that nobody really cares much for him. He waits until his grass is about 6 or 8 inches tall, and then he scalps it. The driveway and street are COVERED with grass, and he of course does not bother cleaning any of that. Great neighbor.

Please don't complain about dandelions. This year we're not getting spring. We don't even have grass yet. Yesterday was the first day this year that the temp has hit 60F. The Frickin snow's not even gone yet. Last year I was out cruising the Barracuda by the end of March, this year
I'll be lucky if I get it out by the middle of May.

Now I feel guilty for starting this thread. LOL
Funny story. About 15 years ago, I thought I'd give golf a try. I have 2 brothers who play. I should have known better. I have ABSOLUTELY ZERO athletic ability. I am good with my hands when it comes to carpentry, plumbing, wiring and working on cars, but I have zero hand-eye coordination, two left feet, ten thumbs and crappy coordination. Anyway, I took about a dozen lessons, and I thought I was ready to give the golf course a try. I bought some bright yellow balls thinking they would stand out clearly in the bright green spring grass. LOL, guess what else was round and yellow. So I tossed the yellow balls.

Ha ! That is funny !

Actually I spend time in the yard but its more of planting than pruning . We do an 8x16 garden and roses/tulips/peonies etc.... I just am not into the manicured look .
I love to mow the lawn ... its my me time . Melissa has maybe done it once because I want to do it . Besides it uses an engine ...lol

Dandylions are a real ***** to get rid of. We had literally hundreds in a small patch of our yard right outside our bedroom window. I got me one of these bad boys right here several years ago. Stuck with it all season and got every damn one of um. Pulls um up easy, tap root and all and they DON'T come back.
