Lack of rigidity mostly. It's a decent setup if you just want to install bushings, but it CANNOT correct bore locations that are off. The BEST way is in one of the machining centers that probes the bore locations, and then rebores. But that's a crazy expensive machine that most shops dont have.

There is a fixture in the cam tunnel and mounted to the top of the block. The boring tool is in a fixed position and cannot walk. You my friend do not know what you are talking about. Watch the video. You may learn something . My son does lifter bore truing in Pa.
