I reinstalled the bucket seats in my 69 Dart today. They have been out of the car for 10 years so I don't have a fresh memory of how they were positioned originally in the car. While the driver side seat has a decent amount of clearance between the inner hinge cover and the floor hump, the passenger side hinge cover is snug up against the hump. Does this seem right? When I took the tracks off the seats to repaint them I tried to make sure they went back on the seat they came off of but now I'm wondering if maybe I crossed them up some how. The other question I have is it correct that the driver seat adjuster handle releases the seat when pulling it backward and the passenger seat releases pushing the handle forward?

The trans tunnel is NOT centered in the car. It is offset to the right about 2".
I put buckets in my 64 Valiant and had the same concern. I just finished reupholstering my rear seat and the floor hump cutout in the seat bottom is not symmetrical either. The offset hump carries right through to under the rear seat. And you probably know the engine is offset to the right also.

No to your second part. I've never had a Mopar do that. Look to see if you can somehow reverse the linkage under the passenger seat.

I know the hump isn't centered but like I said, the passenger seat hinge cover is up against the hump. Seems to me moving the seat back and forth would start putting wear marks in the hinge cover.

I'd have to look at my GTS buckets ('68), but I don't believe there were hinge covers on the inside hinges.

The other thing is I bought a late model A-body buddy seat I was going to put in the car. I don't see how it will fit with the seats as they are, especially when the rear buddy seat bracket will be right next to the hinge covers. The driver side will clear but I don't see any way the passenger side will.

If anyone else can chime in on this, particularly 69 Dart owners, I would appreciate it.

I know this is a few years old, I would like to add that I just installed 69 duster buckets in my 69 Barracuda. The passenger side hugs the console the the track slider lever is reversed from the drivers.
