Aluminum Intakes - What are You Running?

I agree, however, simple question, simple answer.
I don’t feel guilty but wonder like yourself.

Polished or coated?
Looks bad ***.
Self Polished after the machine shop ported it and the heads.
Don't want to high jack his thread.
I guess I should post a crap I sand and polish thread one day

Currently running a Weiand Action Plus on my mild iron head 360LA. No issues.. seems to make decent TQ down low. Will be swapping in an RPM AG when I install the Promaxx aluminum heads and HS roller rockers.

I’d hold off on the intake and port what you have. The Weiand is a very good intake.

I grabbed up one in case I ever wanted to swap to one. They are made well. And have a man look. Don't have a shot of the final polish. So this picture does not show deep shine it ended up with as,was unsure ifno was going to do the part under the runners.

Consensus seems to be you would be hard pressed to tell the difference between the two seat of the pantelones. But the AG is a hair better on the dyno. I'm swapping as the AG has that gap which could come in useful where I live in the summer, very warm here.

Mine came with the endurashine finish wrekt... I had it stripped and painted it.

Dual plane M1.
I've always felt that the factory 1970 340 intake was a pretty good one other than the weight, so I got the M1 from a member here. As far as looks go, once I painted it orange, you can't tell its not the stock one.

I also think the air gap is better in the south or in hot summer. The gas offered is not going to get better.

This older Edelbrock LD340 with Chrysler part# on the back (modified to spreadbore) + a spacer has worked well for me.

Isn't a action plus pretty like a stock manifold

Is that center divider still intact?

Can you get a closeup pic of the manifold to head bolt angle? All of these manifolds I've seen have a 90 degree angle which is incorrect.
This is what it looks like, and you need to correct it.

Yes, Tomorrow, no problem, I think it isn’t as bad as you have pictured but I’ll get the pictures to be sure.

No
The Action Plus is indeed a high rise dual plane. So is the Stealth intake which is a modified Action Plus. The Action Plus & the Stealth are very good intakes.

Just some worthless info.
Action Plus is same hight tall as the RPM (not air gap).
Has,same size ports in width as the RPM. But RPM has,1/4 " large ports in hight than the Action Plus.
Personally think the Action Plus and it's smaller ports would be better low end tourqe on smaller cam street 340_360. When i say smaller I meen street, not street strip. To bad Ma no longer makes the DP M1

Most of that short coming can be ported out and that intake is actually pretty OK with aggressive S/S cams.

Yes, from what I can tell, just the original notch.

Holley Strip Dominator. Like it on my 451 B (street dominator) that I got one for my 340 (strip dominator). I know thy say 4-8000 RPM but they run fine in a light A with a 340 and a 3.91 rear!

I’m sorry Jeff, there is no reply after the quoted text.

I agere. I was posting the info for those who want to know the difference between the 2. Some may want the smaller ports not everything is for race

Cool. I agree, the right intake for the job is the way to go about it. Thanks 340six.

I never thought about that. I haven’t had a problem otherwise that I’m aware of. I certainly have enough cable!
It looks nicer with them. Imo
They sit proud on motor..so it's like taking a hot chick and sticking a chain nose ring on'er hanging the ground off the front of them.
