shots from the garage...

After racing my 68 AMX for about 20 years I decided to sell out and take a break to raise my youngest daughter. That break turned into 24 years. Never attended any drag races during that time but we enjoyed attending the NASCAR Cup races a Loudon a few times. When the New England Nationals came into being the wife bugged me to take her as she had never seen the nitro classes run. I resisted as I knew what would happen if we went. Anyway, the bug caught hold of me and I got back into it 3 years ago. Now at almost 66 years old my body tries to tell me that I shouldn't be crawling around on the garage floor under the car any longer, but my brain says ignore that foolishness and wrench away! Glad I got back in because I really missed the competition and the fellowship with other racers.
Similar story except I stopped racing when my 1st child was born.. 27 years later, when the 2nd child finished college and moved away, I rolled the cars out of the back of the garage for their first dose of sunshine after all that time. Went to the Mopar show/race at Norwakk in 2019 and relit the fuse. Now 3 years later, I added the avatar car build for racing and am about to put the finishing touches on the 71 Demon. The 69 Charger, my 1st car and patiently waiting, will be next. That is how the 71 has 37k miles on it and the Charger 40k miles. I've owned them a LONG time but they've sat many, many years. That is slowly changing!!
