I was digging through a chest of used tools I picked up, looking for a 5/8” wrench. I found this combination wrench that’s stamped “1/2” and “9/16”, but they clearly aren’t those measurements. More like 3/4” and 13/16”. Anyone ever see this?

Have a 1/2" x 9/16" box end wrench that's stamped in reverse.....or wrong ends. It's a Craftsman from the early 70's....

That looks like an old valve wrench. Also I’ve got a few craftsman wrenched stamped one thing but smaller or larger than posted. I hold on to them when they climb in value. Lol!

Mine is the only one that I've had like that....it's my freak wrench :D

Whitworth (an old British standard)? They were labeled by the bolt size not the head size.

Nailed it!

I bought a box of Snap on wrenches like this. Got home, figured I lost my shirt when they didn't fit anything. I listed them on the buy and sell and the BMW and Norton motorcycle guys went nuts. I made enough to buy all the tools that I wanted.

By Jove, I believe you nailed it!
I forgot all about Whitworth- still have a set buried away somewhere from my old BSA days.
