Lots of early AC systems were trunk mounted.

Like the way they circulate the cool air back up through the Hat Tray speaker holes.

Would be interesting to see where they located the AC condenser to get rid of the heat? Back to the front?

On a 56 Imperial there is a small air scoop mounted on top rear quarter panel next to where airtemp is mounted in trunk. The conditioned air is blowen forward inside rear window

Interesting. It was mounted in the back of a '52 Chevy.
Don't know if it is a working system.

Bet it works, just enough Hose Clamps, Duct Tape, and an Ammo Box to space it up off the floor. Works for me, AC is AC on hot day.
