@slantsixdan might can enlighten us. I know there were some diesel D100s made. I THOUGHT they were Perkins, maybe they were Nissan. I don't remember. I've never seen or heard tell of a diesel Duster. What a slug.

Also, newspaper ad from somewhere and somewhen around that time.

I have done engine work in the past on a 1974 challenger 32' 3 mast ,6' keel sailboat that had this engine (water to antifreeze heat exchanger). I only ever had to do services and adjustments, It was full inboard ,ran 2 alternators for house batteries and a 2 speed gear box. nice clean running engine.

Brings back old memories, took out a lot of GM diesel engines and changed them to gas. Have never heard of this Dodge diesel engine adventure.

Yesterday I watched Indy Mecum sell a '79 Ford crew cab sitting on a Ram chassis with a Cummins. Two iodiots ran the price to $200,000! :realcrazy:

Those old cars were way more beautiful and stylish than the ones they make now. I dream of getting my hands on one of these and restoring it. My family calls me crazy, but I really want an old wagon Chrysler or something of this kind to become my first car.
Initially, I wanted r34 gtr for sale from jdmbuysell.com, but it’s too expensive and hard to find. I still want it but maybe sometime later. Now I just want an old and large car to fit all my friends in it and have fun together. I also want it to have a large trunk to fit at least two people.
What 80s car is your favorite one?

Sounds like the diesel powered cars were a gimmick of the 70's like the electric cars are today.

In my Motorola years I got "transferred" to some friends driving some sort of small motorhome with a ?Peugot? something little turboed diesel. CHRIST!!!! Sit there and wind it and wind it and shift after about 5 minutes of winding. I never saw anything so absolutely gutless in my life.

Guy who lived in our town used to have a 4WD Jeep Commando with a little Perkins. It was no powerhouse, either, even in that relatively light Jeep

Rusty I've been told that the earlier Dodge pickups (pre Cummins) were absolute slugs.

Buddy of mine had a BMW Diesel powered motorhome.... Sold his 440 powered motorhome & bought what he referred to as "Bimmerwagon"
