Does you car bring out the worst in other drivers, or is it just me?

I try to drive reasonably in the city with my Barracuda. However I guess I'm not driving fast enough for the guys with minivans and ricers and fartcanners. lol. They go flying around me, sometimes tailing me first. The guys with the newer Mustangs and Chargers make as much noise as possible revving to be noticed too. Anybody else notice this?

Sometimes I get cars getting too close. Because it's older (I believe) they are looking longer. And as any racer can tell you? You will drift towards object your eyes are fixed.

Most newer stuff dont hotrod me too much.

There is that "Hey that's cool, what is it?", then the "I'm a macho dick, look what my awesome car/truck/crotch rocket/hog can do" to the "I don't care about you, your car, or what your doing, I care about me and me only so I'll run you over because I'm so self-centered the sun in jealous", and finally the "let me guess what Chevy you drive" guy.

I've noticed since I got my 2016 F-150, which is all stock, that the macho truck guys seem to storm up and around me. So I don't think its limited to cars or even old cars.

I have a big pig '07 Ram dually diesel. Don't have that problem. It's heavy and slow. But will drive you into the ditch and pull you out. Lol.

I have found that I enjoy my cars best by taking off a weekday and going out cruising mid morning on country back roads. There's more cotton tops out but at least their driving sanely, albeit slow.

I have some of the newwr Challenger guys say that the Hell Cat will easily beat my street 440 '69 GTX. And I say that's true. But I also say. "Give that 440 15lbs of boost? I would need to weld the frame together to keep it from twisting in half."

Besides. I have a 10 sec 451 N/A Duster. Have ran up against 2 Hellcats at out local track. Once amber light lit? Never saw them again.

I'm totally fine with the newer Charger/Challenger crowd intimidating the Mustang crowd. I enjoy that.

I drive my old car because I enjoy it, not for attention. It just gets the wrong kind of attention I guess. Reading this thread it looks like it's common with other vehicles as well.

On the plus side, I've been getting a lot more thumbs up and waves lately. Although some ricer passed on the wrong side of the street in a no passing zone. I could have buried him but why be an ***? 1 is enough! And I apologize for the B body on FABO buy its the only one I've ever owned 27 years now as apposed to 5 A bodies!

no need to apologize I own a 69 bee I like my B body as well as my A body.

I like the guys that pull beside me, rev it up and drop the hammer when the light turns green. I just mosey along.

Lots of people assume its a race car. It isn't, I'm just out for a ride (maybe going for some ice cream).

I am impressed with the newer muscle cars, and I could have one if I wanted one, but I enjoy driving the "Golden Oldie" bringing back the memories from my younger days.

I know if I drive the classics in late evening the deer seem to be attracted to it. Been a while since I clipped one, but they sure are trying !!

I get it with my rat rod 360 dart. Lately a new Ford f150 clown went around me. What really got me steaming is this inbred moron has his hand high on his steering wheel. As to tell me I'm bad. So I gave now indication of taking off like a bat out of he'll but bam I did!! Left that sissy jackals in my dust. 3.91's and the 292 purple cam helped some I think!

Try driving this down the street, even with regular plates on it, lights covered up and "Not In Service" signs in it. People would not pass and stack traffic up, one of the main reasons I sold it.

I just tell the wife " hand me the sawed off 12 ga. from behind the seat, and watch that idiot poop in his shorts." Then she says "you wouldn't!???" and "NO you can't have it!":steering::thankyou:

When I was daily driving my A12 (without the hood decal) with the black wheels and hubcaps, the squirrels pretty much ignored it. When I put centerlines on it, the squirrels came out of the woodwork.
On the other hand, If your ride looks badass enough, and sounds badass enough, the squirrels leave you alone. Its the lookie-loos you have to watch out for.

I call it the douche bag effect. If they already have a propensity for bad behavior on the road, my car seems to intensify it and draw them in! On the other hand, I do notice that some proportion of the tailgaters are simply trying hard to read that damn script on the trunk. Some still ask "what is it" at lights or the gas station even after reading. I tell 'em well it's like a pike.....

Opposite I think, my car brings out the worst in me. I shift to redline, chirp the tires and get a little sideways nearly every turn I make. LOL

You're not alone. Happens all the time. I don't care if it's a mini-van or a taxi. I swear they feel the need to impress you with their "speed". And we're the strange ones.:):)

funny story
one of my younger buddies has a little ricer, some toyota product, nothing fancy
but he mentioned that on his side of town there is a guy in a audi who thinks his car is the bomb

well, one day, hes dating this girl and he really wanted to impress her and take her to a date on the beach
we all know his ricer wouldnt do the trick so i let him take the duster
wouldnt you know it, on the way to the beach he catches a red light, and who happens to pull up next to him but the guy in the audi?

so hes simply sitting there, the duster idling along like the drum line to "radar love"
he looks over at the guy in the audi...and the guy refuses to even make eye contact

i guess he knew what his audi was capable off

i will say this, the duster is the only car i got, that when i need to turn on a dime, i just turn the wheel and slam the throttle...instead of having to do one of these

I have found the same. When I'm sitting at a red light with the Barracuda the others wait for me to leave first.
