70 AAR rebuild…

Best thing to do with that car is just cry. I got tips for that guy, safety glasses, gloves and hearing protection. Other than that, amateur hour for sure.

That's really no longer a car... looks like a " rebody" canadate. Is the 340 six still around? #s trans? For all the secret places where part of the vin is, intact enough to salvage it does not look like it.... all I can say is I hope this one lives again but I don't see how there's ever going to be a totally correct restoration involved in that car not that I'm a restoration guy anyhow

What other secret places do they stamp the vin other than rad. support, trunk lip and the dash tag ?

Jennings Motor Sports on YouTube..70 AAR rebuild…very ambitious. I’m pulling for him but it’s dire
I'm hoping he does it justice and there's nothing amateurish tackling this for all to see. He seems like a young guy who any other time members here state there's not enough of them interested in doing this type of stuff.

YA, know Man, I don't wish ill on his Build, it just seems economically unfeasible. But if he HAS the parts, and saves a totally Trashed Mopar, he HAS MY RESPECT!!!!!!! Heck, if he's in my neck, I'd come Labor here and there, Free

If he's got it down that far and it's comin back, he'll finish it.

I haven't watched the video. Just the car on the trailer. I was working. Haven't got overheated in Many Years, Man, my blood sugar dropped right out, and I got my head Fryed!!!!. I'll watch in a few...

We were all amateurs at some point…I admire his willingness to take on the project…of course it is content for his channel. The car when finished will be more akin the George Washington’s ax…head replaced twice and the handle replaced six times….not much left of the original.

Yeah, but Darn it, he's doing it!

That's a lot of work there!

But for a 'Cuda nearly all the chassis and sheet metal parts are reproduced. You can built that entire car around the numbers. And he must not be a total amateur, because he kept the cowl with the VIN # and the door with the VIN sticker. And quite frankly, that level of chassis work suggests he is not an amateur, despite what it may look like. He's doing it right, and by documenting everything he's making a good case for selling it as a real AAR. Sure, it will be 90%+ new parts, but he didn't just cut the VIN's off and toss them on another car. By the "rules" that car is not a rebody, it's a restoration.

He's ambitious, but he needed a lot more new parts temporarily in place before welding those front frame rails up! :BangHead:
I hope it all lines up for him as he goes, but I'm sure he will learn a lot on this one!

So you base the frame rail location on the body work that was hit or wasn’t there, or the body work locations on the frame rail dimensions that are published?
