Wonder if that pear wood would be good in a smoker. I like finishing with apple or cherry after starting with alder. If I was "up on the hill" I'd be after some of that oak or hickory!!! Memike's lucky to have so much of that around.
We have a lot of oak and some hickory in our area. We have several walnut trees.
On the property next to us owners have pear and apple trees. Wife thought some fruit trees might be nice. I told her go for it all yours.
