Geez, this isn’t brain surgery, if threw away every part on my car that wasn’t perfect, there wouldn’t be anything left. Put a bolt & a nut on it & center punch the end of the bolt good so it can’t come loose. Poor mans rivet….
Yeah I don't get it. It's like everybody wants to go hide under the kitchen table over a missing rivet. Clean it up, look at it GOOD with a magnifying glass and if you see no cracks, make another rivet, nut and bolt....whatever.
