Trouble getting a slant six in the car

I usually pull out the transmission cross member completely, and install engine and transmission as one unit. Just get the engine mounts snugged into place, reinstall the transmission crossmenber, bolt up the transmission mount, tighten the engine mounts, done.

Problem is that the tranny never came out, so installing them as a unit is out of the question. And as I stated earlier, I don’t have a load leveler for my hoist so even if I could put them together I’d have no way of actually navigating that large of a mass into the tunnel
