Trouble getting a slant six in the car

Is it an older crank with the smaller pilot in the crank for the torque converter? If so it'll never mate together. Ask me how I know

It’s actually a 77 225 I’m dropping into a 74, the motor that was in it previously was a 68 I think. Also a 225. But the problem I was having was even when I finally got the motor mounts in properly the block was still sitting on top of the bell housing cause it just wasn’t clearing
