What choke for my ‘68 318 2bbl?

Take 2 pairs of pliers and straighten that choke rod out- it should be long enough then.
With everything cold, it should be just long enough to fit the choke lever with the butterfly closed; maybe just a tad open since you're in Texas. Of the rod is too long, put a slight "V" bend in the rod until it fits. Then fire it up and run it until the engine is hot- the choke should be wide open by then. If not, increase the bend in the rod until it is.
You will need to get a different clip for the end of the rod; that one is a "right hand" clip", you need a "left hand" clip so it will not interfere with the choke lever. Available at any parts store, usually in a little "Handy Pack" of several assorted clips.
