Do you all think they'll play well with Edelbrock 60779 heads?

You need to check valve clearance anytime you change pistons and/or heads from stock.

The picture makes it hard to tell, are those pistons taller than the deck? 71 & earlier piston have a positive deck height which those kinda look like...
If thats the case the 60779 head won't be a good fit... ....

Looks like a lot of valve pocket but they also look like they are above the deck. If that is the case you'll need open chamber heads for sure. Pull one out and get the part number. Or change them to what you want/need. I'm sure they are cast also.

Sure looks like the Silvolite 1267 piston with a comp. dist. of 1.824. Youl have to measure to know where it's at.

Then the 60779 is a bad choice... You could run .065 thick Cometic head gaskets but then sealing the intake becomes a challenge...
Bah humbug. Just look for some thick intake gaskets.

Those pistons look like the horrible cast pistons that have been around for years. Made for many makes of car & sold by various companies. The huge chamfer around the perimeter is the give-away & it reduces CR.
