I have hardly slept and worked every waking moment over the past week and a half to get my Duster to the film set of a new movie coming out! My 318 cracked over the winter (my fault) but it gave life to my trusty 340 and is in the car and made it to the set today! The other main car is my High School buddy’s 71 Monte Carlo. We will do the last bit of filming May 1st at JakesDragstrip Moulton, AL and need more racers if anyone is interested! Should be fun!

The movie generally has a working title and is different when released. I am a set carpenter for IATSE 52. Usually there are 2 or 3 similar cars, one for outside shots, one for shots from the car and one for shots of the people in the car. Some are heavily modified for such purposes. On one of the purge movies they flipped over an Escalade, the Buffalo cops saw it in the night and dragged it to impound.
And they do **** like this

Mine was the only Duster, it was used for all the shots. Shooting was wrapped up early this month in Alabama. There is a scene where a Chevy truck was used in a chase and after it crashed a Ford was burned in its place! I put Z71 on the side of it before they lit the fire with tape...

The Duster is my overwhelming recommendation to those that have limited budgets, but want to get into the Mopar world.

There was 64 D100 the had in the Quiet Place 2. It was for sale on the way to the set. They rented it for like 2k and the guy still wanted way too much after they returned.

Really cool man!! Did you get a chance to meet John Travolta? How was he?
I did, he was around for 5 days. He and I talked airplanes. He was really nice and spoke to everyone, and when the town got word that he was around they flocked to where we were and Travolta stayed for hours shaking their hands and signing stuff for them long after filming ended. Everyone was cool tho, this is my friend Nicholas Maggio’s first movie so there were some learning curves but the actors were good and helpful making things easier on us. I’m going to the Premiere in Hollywood at the end of the month so that should be fun, not taking the car tho sadly.

It’s currently in theaters check your local listings. My Duster gets a lot of screen time and looks tough. Hope some of you can make it out to see it!
