Indy 500

-
I’ll be watching it but it’s not as exciting as it once was. When I was just a little boy. We would always attend a church picnic and the men would play cards and listen to the Indy 500 on the radio. I still get chills when they sing Back Home in Indiana. The only thing that I miss is the lack of individual innovation. Everything seems “cookie cutter” now. Gone are the days of the Offy, Novi, Ford, turbine, and pushrod engines.

I always watched to see the Pace Car. I never remember seeing anything about what the Pace Car was going to be, and we only found out when the race started. Well, except for the 78 Corvette. That one seemed to be a big deal. Now its a Corvette every year yawn.

When my wife worked for Indycar, I loved the month of May because I could count on a shiny new corvette for a week or so. And yes, we will watch the 500 today.

Can listen to the Indy 500 Race live here:

Watch on Youtube to listen to Race

(Don't bother trying to do the live streaming, not worth it.)

Ol jimmie got a call from Na$crap to make the finish exciting. LOL

I chuckle when I hear the nascar announcers speak about cup guys being the best in the world...

Brack was at the race. Once again, foreign driver in a car powered by a foreign manufacturer wins the race. I remember American driver's pulling blocks out of school busses and leading the race briefly !!

Streamed the radio broadcast, had it's moments for sure, turn 2 bit a few of 'em.
