Im working on the inner fenders on my Dart. Im thinking of using bed liner coating on the outside of the inner fenders. I’m wondering if I should remove all the undercoating first ? I know the metal underneath should be in good shape but I’m wondering if the new coating will adhere properly to the old undercoat.

Man, That's a hard call. I figure you usually scrape when your just gonna remove it all to shave the weight...
If it doesn't Stick everywhere you could just Spray it again every couple years?
I scraped some of mine just to see it all and then just went back in with a Chassis Paint for now,
Doesn't really see rain or snow.

Bed liner? I know someone with a jeep that did that. Got in an accident and sheet metal repair was next to impossible. Think about it.

Thanks for all the replies. My original thought was to remove it but wasn’t sure if I was overthinking it. I know the metal underneath should be in good shape since it has been covered for 40 plus years now by factory undercoat. It’s not going to be a show car but want to do it the right way while I can!
