My wife HATES my car.

-
My wife brought the kids to the cruise night at the local diner a couple months ago. After looking at all the other cars, eating some burgers, and hanging out we find out that the "key fob" to her 2019 Subaru got disconnected from the computer in the car. Even the physical key wouldn't open it. The four of us had to take orange car back to the house to try the second fob. No luck so back home in orange car and had to call a tow truck for her car..... She's helped me get it ready at the track before the kids came and sometimes I got a part for Christmas, but the old car gets allot more respect after the key incident.

Just wondering if others have this disturbance in their energy field too.

hell no... the dart is actually hers... i've wanted to sell it numerous times but she always backs out..

For some of use cars are part of our DNA it’s who we are what we do and to have a partner that doesn’t understand that is difficult at best. They don’t understand the time or money put into the projects even if it’s sold at a sizable profit, it can be a no win deal breaker for a marriage if not worked worked out between the two of you.

Thanks! The problem is she doesn't like anything old.

Doesn't like old, sounds like it's time to trade in for a newer model.

I had one girlfriend I met at a car thing through a friend. About 6 months in she started making noise/complaining about "that car" or going anywhere car related. I asked, didn't I meet you at a car thing? Answer, yeah but I don't like these cars. That was time to hit the eject button. Saw it coming for a month or two, just wanted confirmation.

She's strong and independent, let her go be stunning and brave by herself. If she can't respect you she can go it on her own.

Marriage is an insurance policy for women in their old age. Show her this thread.

Mine is pretty decent about the whole thing. Doesn't care how much money I spend on whatever I want. She won't come into the shop as she doesn't like the smell. Not that we've done it yet, since the car's not done, but it doesn't sound like cars shows or cruise nights will be her thing. I'm sure she will hate snappy throttle response.

LOL.....I'm the one that does the bitching while I'm building, and she says "shut up I don't want to hear it". She will step up and help when I am stuck for an extra set of hands. Pretty decent gal:thumbsup:

I've had it for about 15 years and she's only been in it once when I first got it. She complained about the fumes and hasn't been in it since. I hadn't fixed the trunk gasket yet. Anyways, anytime I have a problem with it she says "sell the damn thing"!

At this point in time if she gave me the ultimatum about the car or her I think I'd choose the car. lol.

Just tell her honestly, you’ll sell it when your tired of it and she never has to step in the car ever. In fact, I’d have told a few girl friends and my wife that if it is ever an issue, there free to ride in there own car.

Just buy the wife her own old toy to drive, mine likes her old jeep.
But she always gives me the one more car and I will divorce you crap, same story 3 or 4 cars ago.
She gives me that crap every time I hook the car trailer to the truck, and say I am going to look at something....

My wife in HER car in 1983. When I asked her to marry me I told her that with me she gets my cars. Over the years and ups and downs she has remained my car buddy.

My wife likes the old cars, she would always help me clean up the 70 Dart before cruise nights, and always came out to the track when I went racing, for her it was a way to socialize and have some fun. She was not really happy when I exercised the throttle with her in the car, but she tolerated it. She has not been in the 75 Dart Sport yet, it's still a work in progress, but I don't think she will like the seats much, I don't really care for them either. The 75 Ventura is legally hers, but she very seldom drives it, too paranoid of other drivers hitting it I guess.

My girl isn't a huge fan of older cars either. Especially the Chevy LUV I am building (she hates it) haha but she said she doesn't hate the Duster so I guess that's a step in the right direction.

My old lady is a rollercoaster of a woman... doesnt like the time or money spent. Loves riding in them and burnouts. Loves watching derbies and when i derby but also hates the time and money spent on them. So i bought her a 48 ford f1 flat head 4 speed majorpatina truck. runs and drives for her pictures (shes a professional photographer) no money to spend no time spent just enough so it runs and moves. Then i bought her, her dream truck 79 chev k20 6 inch lift 355sbc and going to be barbie pink.......its undegoing full frame up on that right now.. low and behold she dont seem to care one bit how much time and money i spend on her truck but hey i have a pile of old mopars now and she doesnt say much about any now that i got her the truck to enjoy and drive. She isnt very good at grasping how carburetors work but she will learn. I told her many times its will never be a contest between her or the cars.. because the cars will always win that battle heres her truck 3 years ago when I first bought it. ALOT of new sheet metal since this photo... junk chevys

Yes.

My wife is semi-mechanically inclined. She owned an air compressor and several pro woodworking tools when we met.
I've found working air conditioning goes a long way towards her being agreeable to ride in my old cars. She also has long hair that doesn't work well with open windows. She likes the rear window design on first generation Barracudas and has said a few times that she'd own one if we could find an affordable, solid one (with AC).

We never have money arguments because we have mine, hers, and ours.

She has accused me more than once of running an out of balance rear tire on purpose so I can watch her breasts undulate at slow speeds.

I am so thankful for my wife. Good God. She knows that car building and fabricating is my only artistic expression, so she just let's me do it. It keeps both of us sane.

And she LOVES going fast. I'm more than happy to oblige her. 18 years together and stronger than ever.
