I'm building a sbc for a friend
And using a hydraulic roller cam with solid roller lifters.
After watching Engine Masters do it (season 4 episode 48.)
I figured sure why not just tight lash them and no more hydraulic lifter issues!
It's also interesting to me anyway,
I spoke with someone at Erson cams about solid roller lifters on hydraulic roller cam
He said yes they do it all the time just set them to .006 to .008 hot
Spoke with a guy at Howard’s he did not recommend it at all...
Well I guess we'll see how it holds up.

I tried setting them @.006 hot - thats a *****.
Im old and slow and I think the engine was shedding off to much heat by the time I got done setting all the valves. I find it easier to set them all at zero lash on the base circle of the cam cold. No lash but still able to spin the pushrods with your finger tips.
