Thanks for your question.
The head got some mild port matching and smoothing.
I worked the bowls around the valve pockets and any warts, just a little.
I have had so many setbacks I didn't want to do anything stupid, just get it going.
I will start on another head soon for the next engine.
I wish my ports looked as good as your Avatar!

I have it back together now, just a valve adjustment, pressure and compression test to do.

Went yesterday to check on my trailer in the storage lot.
Someone s-head had tried to break into it.
They broke the door handle but could not get past the dead bolt.
They they went back on the ramp door and cut the clam shell lock mount.
They could not get the rear ramp down because there was a large metal rail behind the trailer.
They could have jumped thorough the narrow gap, but I don't know if they did.
I got in the trailer and my Texas Plate, air tank, winch, etc. was still in there.
So I guess they didn't see what they wanted and left it.
I got it moved in the lot over to a more visible location, better camera location.
So now I have a hundred dollars in repairs to do before going to the track.
Funny thing I was going over to measure the foot print for my detached garage.

Damn it, I hate people more and more every day.

Wow Stan - Storage lots offer no luck! Do those prior offenders have relatives? Good luck on your planned detached garage. You need it for sure sounds like.

Jerry

Valves adjusted.
Pressure Tested.
Compression test was real good, over 200 in each cylinder, 210 best.
And with a valve cover I get the same numbers!!!!
Built a brace for the grill to the radiator yoke.
Worked a little on little on the AVS.
There are supposed to be adjustment screws in the base covered with lead plugs.
If they are in my carb I drilled and never saw a screw.
Perhaps the PO had screwed that up, seemed like I was drilling steel, not lead.
Calibrated a fuel measuring plastic pipe. 5 Gallons of 102 in the tank.

Well it ran today.
It sounded angry.
In a good way.
Still tuning the AVS a little, but the jet change seemed to help the idle.
Video coming later.

Been a minute, had some issues that side tracked me.
I have the water in the engine now, engine run video coming soon.
While I get that done, here is yet another walk around.
This one is a little more detailed.

Looks great, man! Hope all goes well first time down the track!

Mega awesome! I forget, Stan what ET are you shootin for?

That turned out beautiful. Everything looks very meticulous and simple. Nice job.

The Barracuda ran mid thirteens, so anything faster is a win???
Yea, right, 20 thousand dollars later I should have kept the Barracuda!
Seriously, I think a mid 11 should be doable with the power and weight I have.
Not to mention I have to be 750 lbs. lighter.
There is a SS Racing record I have my eyes on.
Going to start building that 170 stroker to see what I can do.
Never held a record before.
And I ain't getting any younger.

Yea I have a couple of 198 cranks and a 170 here.
I have a set of 12.5 Venolia pistons in a box that are 40 years old.
Webers or EFI, it should SING!
Oh yea, a set of Super Trick Goodman Roller Rockers and a roller cam.
