The 71 will get its new shoes tomorrow. This time, T/A Radials. But they no longer make the rear 275/60-14's that are on there so the new ones will be 245/60R-14's (the rear rallye rims were widened many years ago - think I had about 1-1/2" put in them). Fronts will be 205/70R-14's.

These Belted T/A's coming off probably have about 800 miles total on them but they're also about 33-35 years old and I just don't want to trust them. Car was always garaged and no visible cracking but at that age, you just can't be sure. So to the scrap tub they go.

Yes those are old I’ve never even seen belted t/a’s cool just the same , I’m with you I wouldn’t trust them either. You gotta smoke ‘‘em off at least ,get video and post

Nope, these are leaving me today for some new ones. Can't afford risky tires. Let's hope the new ones are good! The car is a week or so away from being started - first time since 1993.

Those vintage "Belted T/A" tires look like they're in awesome shape.

If you still have them, consider selling them, especially if two of them are in a non-available size. Plenty of cars out there sitting on "show" tires owned by people who know they can't be trusted out on the road...
