Removing REAL old window tint?

Thought ammonia sprayed on put in the hot sun on the inside. Been a while but thought they sprayed on ammonia then covered it with a plastic bag so it did not evaporate. Then scrape off with a plastic scraper when soft, or just pull it off.

Have to see if you can find out more on this. May be some adhesive left behind to clean off too.
