Trying to understand what the difference is between a vinyl top car and non vinyl top car for the rear window seal if someone could point that out for me?

I ordered both since my Dart was originally a vinyl roof, but was removed.
The body shop installed the regular hartop version. Apparently the vinyl roof version of the seal fits fatter, and allows for the bulk of the vinyl, plus the trim.
Thats the way it was explained to me.

A few years ago I ordered from Classic Industries, but it arrived with a Laysons sticker on it. Sold it then, heres the info on the thread.
