Lemmy Would be Proud!

I started out with nothing and still have most of it left to do....

I never worked for a startup, but they were around when I was in Silicon Valley (1980s). A company needs to compensate based on your education and experience. That can be salary alone or salary plus extras. In many cases a startup can only afford to give shares in the company. If you aren't getting your worth either way you need to be looking now. They are very unlikely to be generous later...Sounds like they really don't have enough startup capital...

Yeah they kinda don't have enough capital, we've had a lot of delays and my boss tends to be overly optimistic with respect to time. I do have "virtual equity options" which is the best they can do for now, all our money currently just comes from investors and grants since we're still in the R&D phase and don't yet have an actual product to sell. I'm ok with holding out as long as it looks like we'll be successful at proving the technology but that's the part I'm becoming slightly less faithful about as time goes on. IF we make it I'll be rich but I have my doubts. I love the work and my boss (who is the owner) is an awesome guy but he's really limited in what he can do in terms of pay for employees. I don't want to leave until it's more certain things won't work out, I've been here basically since the beginning and with my knowledge and skill set my boss would be SOL if I quit. I know, not really my problem at the end of the day especially if I can't afford to survive but I really want to see this tech work out if I can help it. Talked to my dad about it (who is also an engineer) and he thinks it's better to hold out for a bit plus he's willing to help me out with expenses for the time being, as compensation I'm helping my parents move when they sell their house later this summer.

This year it's about DRIVING IT!!! Just took a 180 mile round trip Sunday to a Mopar show which was cool . But the drive was better. Stuffed my 6'9" stepson in and even he had an ear to ear grin the whole ride.

I built a 64 Savoy back in the mid 90s, 440 stuffed into that slant body, the 3 on tree went the way of a 4 speed. Friend put me onto this one will be 2 years this Sept. My current project is same animal but it will get a 383 another friend has that was out of his 67 Coronet.
I finished the body/paint last summer. NO rust but it ain't perfect. Good enough fr me to drive. At 74, mostly woreout, cataracs, bad knees..... but IF I keep it, it will be a driver for me. I have offered it for sale for months, but not that many Mopar guys in Tx. Or people want a $10,000 paint job and want it for FREE. So I continue on with it. I really would like to finish it and make it my last ride.
A guy on a B body site, said "another darn SS clone!". Well not really. It now has A100 new seats, NO back seat ( I don't need a back seat), SS? NO just a decent 383 and a 4 speed. I have fabbed a MW scoop out of 20 ga mild steel that is exactly like the oem aluminum job. Would have made mine out of aluminum but too many $$$$$! I'm not a racer, not a show guy... just an old fart that likes to drive some.
It will fab SS door panels next. Still need to swap out 8 3/4 rear. Ever seen an old man and his old wife try to do such? Change K and update some front suspension. I have new brake/fuel lines, and brake parts.
Need AMD windshield in and ACC carpet. NOTE! Windshield and carpet is IN!!!!! lol
Keeps me out of the bars and pool rooms. But... not much of a drinker and I suck at pool...sooooooo

I've got my final ToDo list taped to my windshield, so that means we're pretty close. Just need to order fuel lines and a transmission cooler. Few other odds and ends.

Actually I have a set of Doug's D-453 headers I bought last November (I had a feeling things were gonna get more expensive! Lol) I'm gonna try installing at some point this summer into my Duster. And swap in the 3.55 gearset and put the new clutch kit in my Sure-Grip unit, all of which I've had sitting in a box for at least a year now.

Also might tear into the rear axle in my truck, no noises or issues but there is quite a bit more play in the driveline than I'd like... thinking it might be worn cross-shaft or spider gears.

Trying to grow my garden and keep my family fed. 10 years in on the heap-May never run again and I’m not sure I care!

72 Duster - Should be on the road tomorrow. Just bought it a few weeks ago. Been sitting for 10 years. Put a different motor/Trans in it and basically replaced all the suspension/brakes.

71 Nova - Haven't touched it. It's basically how I bought it as a rolling shell with new quarters, floor pans and some other panels.

Maybe.

But...hells bells, $25,000 for a 75 Duster?
It’s still cheaper to buy someone’s finished car than it is to do your own and bring it to the same level and look.

If you think that’s a lot of money for the year of the car, the cost is pretty much the same on any car. Car purchase price aside as some years are more desirable.

Finishing the top-plate for my e-body console. I'm waiting for the new billet-top to arrive. Gotta be done soon/Carlisle.
Need to have the Sundance-Duster polished
Silver car is ready-to-race, all updated and adjusted. Gotta heal, to race.
Prowler needs to be driven. Gotta heal more to enter and exit.
Wagon needs grill and bumper installed.
Dually and trailer need outside cleaning.
Krusty is at the chassis-shop for awhile.

I'm nibbling away with this stuff, as I'm not really able to do anything much. The left knee revision, is gonna be 10 months to a year... for a full heal. Very grateful to friends, and shopping-out what I need to.
