2021 - 2022 Ford Bronco

-
A coworker is buying a new 2021 Bronco, she’s waited a year and a half. Looks just like the one the OP posted.

I’m buying her 2003 Jeep Wrangler Sport for my boy.

Nice!! I cant wait to get mine. Probably looking like july. I did drop the 4k tow group, since I will never use it that way. I did see a bronco sport in the cactus grey, and almost vomited. I switched to silver. The cactus grey in person looks like PPG sandable grey primer with clearcoat.

I was thinking about getting a Maverick truck for a few minutes. I started doing some research and found out they have CVT transmissions, and that was a deal breaker for me. :( CVT's have been a lot of trouble from any MFG that has used them.

This is my Son-in-laws with six speed, lift and tire and wheel package. He works at a Ferd dealership and got a deal from a vender on the lift, wheels and tires in exchange for...?
And... that's my youngest grandson.

Looks awesome. Diggin the wheels n tires. Im putting the cart before the horse. Got a bed cover, a bed mat, a few small things, and some rims and tires. 245-55R18s these are a bit wider than stock, but same diameter. Got some nice ford center caps for them. Wish I coulda found the center caps in 65mm in black. Want to get a 2" lowering kit. Although I appreciate all kinds of modified vehicles including lifted ones, I dont care much for lifting my vehicles. Like the hot rod look on trucks.

It's odd, there are a few of em around town, and some look great (lifted, tires and for some reason, ALWAYS with a soft top) and some just look off

And ALL dropped vehicles look, well, bad

Diymirage i disagree. Here is my 94 Silverado 2"-4" drop, and pix of a maverick with a 2"-2" drop. I'd say these look tasteful. I'm not an in the weeds dragging the frame kind of guy. BTW 3rd pic is a stock height maverick to compare. Too much space between the wheel and fender top. 2"-2" lower on a maverick is nice. Subtle enough most people would never notice.

How's the headroom?

My 2015 Renegade is exceptionally good.

The new ranger I sat in was just so-so. About like my 2000 Dakota. Serviceable but a tad closer than I'd like.
Been reading that people that are 6'-2" still have a few inches of headroom on these with the moonroof option. I'm 6'-0" and didnt order a moon roof, so I got a lot of head room.

it almost looks like pic #2 has too small a wheels one it, like the drop messes with the proportions of the whole truck

i agree it can be tough to get the whole picture right, and lifting a truck with stock wheels probably isnt right

then again, i got a pretty specific idea of what looks "right" on a truck, and the wheels in pic #2, arent it
as far as im concerned, the only wheel that looks good on a truck is this one (and according to tirerack, you cant even get them for a maverick)

now, if you have black steelies on a truck, that 99 times out of a 100, that looks better than the aluminum ones they put on there nowadays too

as for that 3rd pic looking off, i think it is because the rims are too big (and i understand that is on ford)
put smaller wheels with bigger tires on there, and you got the whole picture again

FWD rim offset. Stock is +37.5mm the ones I have are +35mm. The guys truck in the second pic is a 235-60R17. I have been talking with him on this modification. His tires are same as stock tire diameter.

Thanks for your input, but the way I see it, is its only got to make me happy, and the rim and tire combo in the sizes I selected along with a slight drop to close up the wheel well gaps will give it the look I'm after. As far as customized trucks go In Texas, theres some lifted trucks, and some slammers, then theres category 3, all of the other ones with a slight lower, and rake to em. I fall into that 3rd category. It's what I like.

its all good
it is kind of a moot point arguing taste, and its up to you how you want your truck to look

this is my plow truck, stock suspension, aftermarket wheels, same diameter, but smaller rim size and narrower then stock

in comparison, here is my bronco with 35s on steelies and a 4 inch lift, that to me was a perfect combo

Both look good and in proportion for being 4WD. I think my silverado looks good and in proportion with 225-60R15s on 15x7 rallyes on the front and 275-60R15s on 15x8 rallyes on the back along with a 2"-4" drop to get rid of that wheel opening gap and put a slight hot rod rake to it. Nothing against lifted 4x4 trucks. Like I said I like "hot rod".looking trucks. No need for a lifted 4x4 truck down here. I opted for the AWD option for the 2 months of winter when we do get sloppy snow and ice. Truck is definitely getting lowered. How much depends on what it looks like when I bolt my wheels and tires on it.

thanks Mat

the only reason i ever bought a truck was for snow plowing, so the 4WD is rather important
(though i bet if it were possible, a FWD would do better then a RWD as a plow rig, simply for the weight of the plow on the front)

and that is another thing, i hang 800 pounds of metal of the leading edge of the truck
i need to lift so i can steer with the plow on

iether way, lets see what yours looks like when you get her done

Well it's looking like september on this thing. Apparently Ford is now looking at my order as of june 1st. I may get a vin# soon. So my son decided to gift me with one I could have right now. I think his drawing is spot on. He even upgraded me to the Lariat package. So good I had to frame it.
