2021 - 2022 Ford Bronco

-
A coworker is buying a new 2021 Bronco, she’s waited a year and a half. Looks just like the one the OP posted.

My coworkers brand new Bronco was totaled by a lady that ran a red light.

My wife's Maverick is approaching her 1st oil change the only issue is here right front window won't roll up from the driver's seat most likely the master switch in the driver's door but other than that all has been good. I need to ask her what her average fuel mileage is. I know it is better than 40.

I been looking at the 2021 - 2022 Ford Broncos. Not the escape style Car SUV thing, but the Bronco with the full frame based on the ranger frame. It comes with Dana 44s with optional electronic lockers.

The base engine is a 2.3L ecoboost. That's the only one you can get with a standard shift. which also comes with a granny low. It has removable doors and top. A quick removable soft top is available. As well as quick removable fenders, quarters and such in case you want to go off road and not screw up your panels.

I know some are going to say, just buy a jeep. I do love Chrysler products, but if I see another jeep with the "angry eyes grille I'm gonna vomit. I never cared for jeeps even in the 70s, 80s, 90s. I really like the proportions of the 2 door Bronco, and I always loved the 64-77 square body ones that this is designed to look like

I dont need any fancy big wheels from the factory, or any other gee gaws save for the electronic lockers, and maybe add more aggressive tires on the stock steelies when the originals wear out. I want the dark charcoal interior (black) black top, and not 100% sure on the color but I am partial to blue.

Dont need a truck as my 94 silverado still runs great, and is a useful tool for running to the home improvement stores or machine shop to pick up or drop off blocks, cranks etc. Dont need a muscle car either since i have 2 barracudas, and a mustang GT, so that base is covered. My daily driver 2008 Chevy HHR i bought new has about 2 more years life left in it, I figure by then I will have had this thing 15 years, and the hubbub over the bronco will have died down a little and I can special order one.

I'm not a car snob like I used to be unless it's a foreign job. I can't do Japanese or Korean stuff. It's just waaay too bizarre looking for me. I buy a lot on looks, price, and what fits my needs. I love old skool looks since it's what sets right with me. Let the flaming and hating begin

I like the way you're thinking!

Ordered dec 28/21 got a vin# today woohoo!!! Tentative build date for my maverick is the week of august monday 08/15/22. I am an NRA member, and 3 of the digits in the vin in sequence are coincidentally NRA.

Wife says 45mpg with her hybrid Maverick

I got the AWD turbo model. Considering all the supply chain issues I'm glad they actually issued a vin at all. What helped was not adding on packages that used a lot of additional parts like the luxury paackage or enhanced cruise control when regular cruise control is just fine. I mean it is a cheap compact pickup after all. I will let my wife take it for a spin. If she really likes it, we may look into a hybrid for her.

It's odd, there are a few of em around town, and some look great (lifted, tires and for some reason, ALWAYS with a soft top) and some just look off

And ALL dropped vehicles look, well, bad
Soft tops because the hardtops lacked quality from the get go. Have to be replaced and if ordered with a hardtop, not shipped with one until quality control at the supplier gets fixed. Also one of the ecoboost engines has a catastrophic failure issue. And the electric Mustang has a safety issue apparently that they can't fix yet. Not to rain on everyone's Ford parade but I'd wait a few years to buy one of their new vehicles.

Disclaimer: Yes, I own a Wrangler so I'm biased. Ours is a first year 4XE and we didn't wait.... crossed fingers, been perfect since day one and it's a year old now.

So a coworker of mine ordered an F150 about the same time I ordered the maverick. He kept saying he was gonna get his before me. We bet a lunch out. Loser buys winner wherever they want to go within reason because we only get 45 mins for lunch. Winner is when you have keys in hand, papers signed. So to have fun with it, I made up a "dragstrip" with velcro to stick the vehicles in place. the red F150 vs the silver maverick. I made his truck a little larger. He did not get a vin# or build date yet, so he is still at the starting line. This is taped to my tool box at work.

When you get yours, make sure you change your screen name
:poke:

Got a vin number issued about 5 weeks ago, and just got an email on friday. Will be built sometime the week of August 15th. My buddies F150 has a build date of august 28th those trucks are built in 2 locations. Dearborn and St Louis. If I had to guess, more than likely at the St Louis Missouri plant since it's closer to his dealer so the race it gonna be close.

Mine is built in Hermosillo Mexico and has a 1100 mile trip by train to get to the St Louis Missouri transfer yard to be put on a truck for the last 200 miles of its journey to Granger Iowa.

If his gets built in St Louis, it's only a 700 mile trip to the Dallas Tx transfer yard, then about 200 miles to his Dealer in Anson Tx.

Wish me luck, I have a Cane's chicken tender lunch and iced tea riding on this bet lol.

Pics or it didn't happen!

I was able to track my new Charger every step of the way. Can you do that with your new vehicle?

Heres a few images. The tracker moved from order confirmed to production this morning or sometime last night.

Well late in the day on the 16th I got an email moving it to the week of the 22nd. No emails so far this week moving it back again so that's good. Yesterday my buddy shows me his phone. His F150 is in production this week. Damn, looks like I might be buying him lunch after all:(. I am going to have to tell him that the reason it's taking so long is that mine is being hand built like a Lamborghini with that old world craftsmanship. I will take my Muria S with a truck bed please.:D

Well it made it to the dealer in Iowa. I cant get there till oct 17th to pick it up. A fellow maverick truck club owner asked me for the last 8 of the vin, and said he would send me pix when he went to pick up his truck this past wednesday. So heres pix. The mythical silver buffalo does exist.
