NO CLASSIC CARS

The driving trip is always worth it for me. I get to meet many cool people and travel roads that I’ve never been on. Visit towns is otherwise never look at or know of.

The Duster took me to a little town call Richland, Ga. Never would have known it was there and met a very cool family. Still chat with them years later.

Was it worth the price of the car? No. But the whole deal from start to finish has been priceless.

I don't remember saying that I already had a car. Non project cars of any make are hard to find in Missouri. I figured that 25k would find a decent car. There's a classic car dealer in Illinois I may have to go that route, unfortunately that would cost me more than the car is worth.
I hope to god you arent talking about country classic cars. I live 30 minutes from there and that guy screws people hard. At least he used to haven't been in a few years

i live in jerseyville ,ill about 40 min from ccc. he puts a price on the cars and you pay what he wants or you don't get that ride. a lot of junk over there, a few decent but overpriced stuff. was there in jan with a buddy looking at a station wagon. pure junk for 10k. we did not buy.

haven't seen any
Because they are all gone, my advice is to get ahead of the curve and get one of the 'Next' hot cars.
I am speaking of the 1987 to 1994 Dodge Shadow or 1989 to 1995 Dodge Spirit. Everything I have been reading points to towards these cars just skyrocketing in collector car value. Just check one out. Great body lines, memorable performance and best of all still available. If you look hard enough.
Everything points to: AMD soon to have body panels available, Year One doing a complete line of accessories and Mopar Performance releasing a catalog of performance parts. Yep, a Shadow or a Spirt is what you need to be looking for.
The rumor here at FABO is that Joey is working up a new forum dedicated to those cars to catch the trend of the collectability of the Dodge Shadow and Dodge Spirt.
He has already picked out a catchy name. Using the first two letters of Shadow and the last two letters of Spirit. The name of the forum will be
'For **** Cars Only"
Dude, this is the direction you need to go in.
Cash for clunkers got most of those, I want a shadow to build a drag car

Looks as though the market for older cars is drying up. I've been looking for a non project car such as a 1968-1972 dart, 1970-1974 duster, 1971-1973 scamp for about 2 years now and nothing. I'm not wanting a 340 car or a limited edition, just a clean rust free car with a V/8, at, ps, and ac.
I bought what I can afford a **** *** $400 70 swinger, but I can do everything I need to make it what I want, still working on it but I've stored up parts over the years and it helps that is going to be a drag car only but a nice car

That's awesome. I have no problem with doing engine work, brakes etc. I don't have the knowledge or tools to do any body work, this is why I want /need a clean rust free car. A car not having a/c will not make it a deal breaker. If that duster would've had a/c I'd be seriously looking into it.

Thanks for the info. That's the place that I was thinking about

Stopped at my buddies house yesterday because he left his 70 Dart out front. I asked if it was for sale, he laughed and said maybe. He was thinking $7k would buy it. It’s a /6 car, repainted but otherwise original, paint is peeling on the upper quarter next to the trunk lid. $7k is a very good price for this car. They’re out there!

NONE of our cars are CLASSICS. It seems that every older car today is identified as a Classic. It is a silly “catch all” term that defies the dictionary definition, is inappropriate and makes no sense.

Prior to the dumbing down of society, hobbyists referenced vehicles in a number of ways: Antique, Vintage (original), Hot Rod, Street Rod, Custom, Kustom, Street Machine, Muscle Car and Special Interest. As an example, all Mopar A bodies would be referenced as in the Special Interest category. This in no way diminishes their reality of being great cars. However, Classics they are not. Contrary to the OP’s search, A bodies are certainly not scarce.

A Classic is a vehicle that is recognized and designated as such. They were/are, expensive, low production, many were hand built, very rare, superb in design/engineering and most range in age from 75 to 120 years. True historic icons. They aren’t driven.

Well thanks for giving your not wanted, not needed and over the top analysis of the Mopar collector car market. I would hate to live through the experience in person with you as you ordered something off a restaurant menu.

The issue is much broader than the Mopar Collector Car Market. “Collector Car” is a good and fitting term. At least you didn’t say: “Mopar Classic Car Market”. The point is that there is no such thing.

Can you tell me how many degrees per 100 feet of upward slope your driveway has? I bet you can.......

I’m actually bringing an ’80 Diplomat home to my driveway today. The “informed” seller advertised it as a “Classic”. I want the driveline. I’ll scrap the rest. Another “Classic” gone forever. So sad.

This guy… :realcrazy::realcrazy::realcrazy: ya post a link to a sweet 72 340 duster and he finds excuses why he doesn’t want it. Like I’m a candy ***, and the cars got to have A/C, roll the Fing window down, boom you got AC. Or it’s 8k over his budget, I get having a budget, but that’s working with seller on a price for a really nice car.

Im starting to think this guy doesn’t want a Mopar, and a plug in Prius is more fitting…

You just contradicted yourself. If you meant what you said, you'd be looking into it.

Windows down, vent windows turned in, floor vents open, no AC needed. My AC cars don't have working AC, and I'm rarely too hot. In fact, I hardly use the floor vents, those suckers flow some serious air.

beginning to think he could sail a ship around the world just by talking into the sails. you know a ship like old ironsides.

Dan the man, why not just buy a newer Challenger R/T ? Or V6 for that matter. You'll have all your creature comforts, and you can get a nice 5 -6 year old R/T for around your price.

No doubt!
Dan is showing his hypocrisy body allowed and clear!

I disagree but to each there own. Classic cars have always for me been 20 years old and older. 50 makes Antique. From my point of view, even though a 20 year old car makes it a classic, it’s only in terms of age. For me, ‘74 & down is a classic. It’s all point of view.

I’m beginning to think he doesn’t even want a car. Or knows what he really wants. Nothing ever seems up to his standards. Every excuse under the sun. It’s to far, it’s too close, it’s got no air even though that wouldn’t be a deal breaker. Not factory enough. Not enough aftermarket parts. Too loud. Too quiet. They won’t bring it to me. The list goes on and on. Kim
