Finally finished swapping an Explorer 8.8 rear end in my 68 Dart. This is a full length axle (no shortening). I think it came out beautifully and I love the stance.

Awesome video thanks for posting! Does having the driveshaft angled more than stock negatively effect anything?

I’ve put around 60-80 miles on the shaft and 4 passes down the strip. No vibrations of any kind. I took 1 degree out of the pinion angle to account for the additional side angle.

Did you roll the inner lip in? Mighty close to that outside edge. Nice job, though!

I cut it. Mainly because my quarters are super rusty anyways. I’ll roll the lips on the new quarters when I get them. It’s only an obstacle with the 9” wide wheels and 10” wide tires. Standard mustang wheels would clear with ease.

Gotchya. Well it looks good. You did a good job on it.

What spring perch did you get and use and did you need anything else to make it work? I have a 67 Dart GT Convertible I’m in the process of putting a 2000 ford explorer 8.8 in mine. Not sure what I need to order for parts
