Wow, awesome. Looks great. Kim
I remember your thread asking about it. I’m glad you’re happy with the results and your car does look even better. If that was possible.
I could not agree MORE with you. It is all about prep. Just like painting a car. I've been doing body and paint as a hobby for about 45 years. Take my 69 Barracuda, for example. I had at least 750-800 hours (probably closer to 1,000) in the prep for that paint job. It takes a long time to disassemble, strip paint, epoxy prime, cut out rust and fab/weld in patch panels, do body work, prime/block sand with guide coat/fix bad spots/prime again/block sand again. I bet I spent at least 50-60 hours block sanding primer. The actual spraying of F8 Green was maybe only 25 hours total. 800 or so prep hours and only 25 hours of painting.I'm not trying to poop on your party but that car looks "That Good" because of the PREP work.
Just keep that in mind if your going the D.I.Y Way.
I did my new 2018 black Jeep Grand Cherokee in 2018 with the Blackfire treatment I mentioned above. It sheeted water for three years, then it just beaded water. It is time for another application. It lasted 4 years.Ceramic coating for paint jobs is marketed to "last for 200 car washes." Results may vary.
