Does anyone know if a broken engine mount tab on a cast block can be repaired?

yes, I've seen it done.
If you have the broken piece, have it welded back on..
If not, get some 1/4" or thicker plate and drill the same size hole and weld it to one side of the broken piece and then use a longer bolt on that one....

Have it filled in with spray weld and redrilled. My son repairs blocks with this method.

Anything special about that particular engine, like #'s matching? If not, and your looking to go thru it (rebuild), might be better to just locate another core to work with.
