I put a Hughes AirGap on my car last winter when I swapped my cam and springs. I'm still running the LA TC cover and WP like you are, at least until I swap the EFI onto it (or pull it for a G3). At that time I will swap to the Magnum setup and fix the bypass issue for good.
I used a
PRS-1060 fitting for the bypass fitting. I didn't like the one Edelbrock supplied as it was too long. The bypass hose was still a pain, ended up taking 3 as I kept cutting it wrong, but the last seems to work ok for the most part (still a slight leak). Your solution works well, just an FYI.
For the thermostat housing, I order a
555-53251. I didn't want the tall one, at least not until there is an AC pump that forces me to use it.
Hope you get past the coolant issue and don't have leaks. I can't tell if your picture of the dipstick is to show there isn't coolant in the pan, or that there is.
