The road through your windshield

It sounds :realcrazy: but it's faster to go from here to Orlando by taking I-26 to I-95 in SC, and then when you get to Daytona, hang a right on I-4. Last time we had to drive to FL to work after a hurricane, the powers that be decided to take all the big slow bucket trucks down I-85 to get on I-75 to Orlando, which meant they had to go thru Atlanta. I went the long way, and beat them by 2 1/2 hours! :D

Headed out to follow my buddy's Dump Truck back to the Owner's lot, the owner is closing up his trucking business.

End of an era of a good paying job for my friend.

Every time I see this picture, my wanderlust hits full blast... Taken last December on Hwy 50 somewhere between Fallon and Ely, NV

Back in the 90s I flew to Oakland, Ca and bought a 67 383 cuda and drove it across highway 50 back to Missouri. Fun!

This was a pretty awesome trip. Released my students and immediately hopped in my '96 Land Rover (bought for $500). Drove East to SLC to see my Grandma, then down through Moab and Monument Valley to Holbrook. From there I picked up Rt 66 back, stopped in Vegas and then headed home. Not a single mechanical issue the whole way, including a lot of side trips onto dirt roads. Two whiteout blizzards, a bunch of nasty car crashes avoided.

I was on that very road in December myself.

Looks like you hit it a bit earlier than me! I barely made it into Ely.

This photo doesn't really show how cold and snowy it was, but cold enough to freeze my tachometer the next morning.

I went through on December 7th, that big storm the hit Reno chased me all the way back home.

2 weeks ago going to work 2 days after severe thunderstorms went thru. In 19 miles, had to go around this type of thing 16 times and 2 detours.

3 weeks ago driving Pikes Peak and Garden of the God's. Also Sheep Mtn in The Badlands.

So sad I never got to climb Pikes Peak on dirt. Still gonna do it at some point. If Tioga Pass makes my old V8 asphyxiate, I can't imagine how slow I will be.

My buddy Wally took me for a ride home after another breakage at the Drags a few years ago..... (New Zealand)

Caution: Driving on the Left side of the road may induce anxiety for some.

Mot mine.....I was riding shotgun....those SRT Jeeps are something else.

This was a crappy video I shot while going for a 'run around the block' - all 100+ miles of it to start the running in procedure a few years ago. The new BluePrint Engines 408 is still going well.

And driving the apprentice home after a long 3 days wiring our boss's holiday home on the beach. Got stuck behind some old clowns on new Harleys. :D
