Bought new enclosed trailer early May , after looking for 2 + years and of course , it got nailed with hail Memorial day weekend .

Its not horrible but, its bad enough ! .. I counted 26 dings in it , and more I look , more I see its white so it hides them, once I file a claim , if it gets beat up worse I would be stuck, they might not even cover it any longer ?

insurance might total it, did you buy it new or used?

Not this one , its a screwless exterior

Why wouldn't they allow you to file multiple claims on it? File a claim, get it fixed. If it gets damaged again file another claim. You pay insurance for a reason.

Call the local paintless dent repair guy, dont make an insurance claim, save it for when you need it. They will cancel your *** for two claims in any 12 month period. Yes, that happened to me.

Im actually an insurance appraiser now that i left the body shop. This is a comprehensive claim aka act of nature that doesn't effect your rates. If you make a claim and it gets hit again you are covered still. Unless you told them you were cashing out. Then they will look at it again and prorate it based on the first damage. For example. If its 5k in damage you dont repair it by cashing out and it gets hit again. They say now its 8k. You got 5k the first time you will get 3k the second time only because it wasnt repaired. If that makes sense.

As far as damage if you see 26 dents its going to be way more than that likely. Is it aluminum skin? If so it will get reskinned. What year and length is the trailer and whats its value. When it come to trailers depending on state laws it may total easy. In my state i can total those around 50% of it value give or take

I would let them total it, take the cash, and buy it back. The hail damage will not affect its ability to tow anything. Fix it at your leisure, and re-Insure.

Lost of these guys charge per panel, not per ding

New trailer in End of April , had not even used it yet .. its a 28 foot .

The inside walls would not allow PDR you would have to disassemble it completely to access everything , its .035 aluminum , doubtful you could scratch the dents out without it looking worse .

Taking it apart , putting it back together would be a gigantic mess , stripped out holes , not going to happen

to replace it would cost easily $28,000 if not more since everything goes up almost daily .

Yeah , every time I look at it , I see more dents .. Its just that I just bought it and I wanted it nice for a little while but, guess It is what it is .. in a way, its still new

My daily got knobbed , put in claim for that and my house got roughed up .. we have had lots of storms around here this spring

Make the claim and decide from there. Even if you dont fix it you will still be covered by insurance.

I am an adjuster, place the claim. Get it repaired, if they total it, Keep the salvage and then sell it and buy a new one again. If you financed it, the finance company will be on your check.

When a car is deemed a total loss it becomes the insurance companies as they are paying you the value. If you retain it you must surrender a % to keep it. If its worth 10k you have 2 options. Insurance takes it and you get 10k. Option 2 is retaining it after total loss. 10k minus what would be gotten at salvage say 2k so tou get 8k and keep it
