Beautiful car! Passon aluminum housings. The inside reminds me of my 64 Barracuda.

This is my 200 series 64 Valiant. It didn't run when I got it but I rebuilt the 225, put the 3 on the tree back in and put 10,000 miles on in the last 5 yrs. This will be my 5th trip to Carlisle next month.

Struggled with the 3 speed linkage so I started collecting parts over 3-4 years. Drove down to Virginia to buy 65 Barracuda seat cores from a FABO member. Bought a correct /6 BH from Brewers. Swap meet 1965 B&T 4 speed from PA that I rebuilt. "Bargain" $225 trans turned out to be over $1000 when done but I thought a quick refresh would enable me to keep the same driveshaft. Ha! Luckily found the correct 64-65 Hurst shifter at Carlisle last year. The machined aluminum floor plate bought from another FABO member in AZ. Boot from a Hurst universal kit works but because of the forward slant of the shifter tower, it's a little kinky. People say the Laysons repro boot is junk. Had the Hurst handle in my stash. Chrome seat trim from another AZ FABO member. Bought a blue $40 steering column at a swap meet and repainted.

Installed the 4 speed last August but had a terrible time shifting. Just solved it last weekend that I'll document in the manual transmission section.

Legendary seat covers that I bought about 5 yrs ago in Signet pattern replacing the front bench. Floor hump came from another FABO member down south. Minor floor rust repair, front seats, hump and carpeting installed last summer. Redid the rear seat and installed this spring.

A lot of work and my goal was to make it look factory. It now drives perfectly! See you at Carlisle, 320 miles each way for me and try to keep up.

After all that, with the price of fuel, I'm considering going through the 1976 833 OD trans and BH I have this winter and maybe try that.
