Hi,
Anyone know the lug size for a 72 Dart? It’s the 5x4 bolt pattern. I’m putting Cragar’s on it and they need conical lug nuts in the back and sleeve lug nuts in the front. I’m lost. 1/2” lugs don’t work. Thanks!

7/16". Left hand thread on the driver's side, right hand thread on the passenger side. That is, if it's still original.

Hi, thanks, I’m pretty sure it’s original. This is my first time restoring a Mopar and I’m learning a lot tge hard way

If you are running small bolt Cragars with sleeve nuts they are unique to those wheels and hard to find. All new small bolt Cragars use conical nuts...

Thanks, just finding 14” wheels is an adventure. I found a Cragar dealer on their site and I’m gonna pass this off to them . Wouldn’t think lug nuts would be an issue

The OP states 1972.
1970 was the last year for LEFT hand threads.

I disagree only because my '72 had LH threads on Driver's side lug studs. No telling if it was original and I don't know what the factory did, like most folks, so hemi71x could still be technically right.

1970 was the very last year for Left hand threads on the studs and nuts.
Anything else other than that, is just bull ****, and an old wife's tale.
Have no clue about your 72, but it DID NOT leave the factory assembly line like that.

Thanks guys! I’m going to take one more shot at getting the Cragar 61’s. If I can’t get them I’ll probably get Rallys from Coker

Well I will need more than your word on this, I have had PLENTY of 71 and 72 Demons with left hand threads on drum brakes and disc brakes, one was a 71 SURVIVOR with less than 3000 miles on it with left hand lugs. Please show me the TSB that states that it ended in the model year 1970...

Another 72 swinger over here with LH 7/16 lugs on the driver side. Original 8.75 rear equipped car with drums all around.

Had a '71 Gold Duster (/6-904-7.25) with lefties. Could have been leftovers from '70, but...
Anyone have a '71-'72 parts book? Are the DS/PS wheel studs and nuts the same part number, or different?

Not looking good for the left hand thread faction.

1973 all right hand thread

Nail in the coffin.
No left hand threads in 71

70 calls out 5x 249808 and 5x 249809

71 calls out 10x 249808

I was pulling for the lefties

Thank's for posting all that.
The Op's topic, question, has gone of the railroad tracks, but not to hijack his posting any further.
If ever a left hand stud was used past 1970, it must have F'd up thousands of professional auto mechanics out there in the repair world knowing 70 is the last year lefties would have shown up on the Mopar line of cars.
I wrenched, professionally for about 30 years, and i never, ever, ran across any A body car, past 1970, that had Lefties on them.
Unless somebody changed things out, themselves, in the life of the car, for some reason or another.
Car can't talk, inanimate objects.

Gat damnit, why didn't you guys tell me this before I tossed that left hand **** in 2006? I had a one of none factory mistake car and now it's just like all the other assembly line trash.

Jerks.

I'm still hang left, on the left side, all 10 of them.

There is no doubt in my mind that the assy line used what was available till they ran out.

I got a April 1971 built 318 demon from original owner with lefts on F&R. Stock brakes and rear end

If you have left hand thread studs on it, it will have a "L" on the end of the stud, and be 7/16x20 LHT. If you still have left hand threads, you will have to change the studs to RHT to use Cragars, because there are no, none, zero, left hand thread conical shoulder lugs.
There ARE (or, more properly, were) left hand thread mag lugs, I have some, but they are not available anywhere anymore.
If you go with aftermarket rallyes, you probably can keep your studs, and use the lugnuts you have.
