FWIW, a LOT of the 3rd-party-sold "MSD" stuff out there is bogus. Yes, the Chinese are making counterfeit MSD stuff. :BangHead::BangHead:
If you have clearance and are willing to deal with a slightly crude-looking solution, it's easy: loop the hose. Instead of the short, direct bend, have it go out from the intake, up, then back and down. Buddy's Aspen was like that for a while and may still be. (Not visible, so he didn't care.)
