Always show up in an old car. Makes the meet and greet ice breaker so much easier. Be nice, respect his property and his possessions and don’t jump out and say “whatcha got for sale”. Just introduce yourself and speak car language. Make a friend.
And have a cold sixer in the trunk.
Even if he's not interested in selling any of his vehicles, you never know what he may have hoarded in the way of parts... or may know of other stuff in the area.
Just don't be too pushy or nosey- as you said, make a friend first!
