South Dakota and Colorado later this month

I think I'll pick a day this week to get the fronts done, cuz they are all the same age. Should have done stems when I did tires last August...... my bad.

So the adventure continued. And I swear I am not making any of this up.
We finally get to our Iowa overnight place and they have no record of the reservation I made for tonight back in February. The dude did tell me he is not surprised, cuz there manual system is not accurate. Told him I have notes on all my stops from when I booked everything in Feb. He said ok, we have room for you. Got a site with just electric, which is fine - we ha e AC!
But wait, there's more..... I called my credit card company to see if there was a charge in the Feb/March timeframe. Turns out we are staying for free tonight. CAMPGROUND never charged me for the reservation. I showed the campgeound dude my notes. He said don't worry about it, we got you. Thank you, Sir! I'll consider it a gift after today's issues.

Much better travel day thus far (shhhhh). Left Earlham, Iowa at 6am. Just got done at the Missouri River overloOK rest area...

Always good when you get out of Iowa. Seems to take forever, all the way from east to west and south to north. Rebel yell when we cross into SD.

Saw a couple of bears doing bear things in the wild experiencing the miracle of life. The kids really got a kick out of it. LOL. And our hole in the wall lunch spot where the menu today is only burgers/fries and a taco bar. But, you can also buy collectables and hand guns here.

I missed this until now , welcome to Beautiful South Dakota .. I'm way over to the Se side where the hangy down part is

It is beautiful here. Doing the Wall Drug tourist trap as I type. Heading the the Badlands Northeast entrance in about 20 min....

free ice water and bumper stickers @ Wall drug .. had a big fire there couple nights ago (wall )

weather is much better here than our northern neighbors , we actually get 4 seasons as apposed to 2

Galesburg, IL rest area on i74 west. Jake took 2 of my 4 valves ms are leaking. Bad.... from 75psi down to 30 in 45 mn. Changed to my spare an hour ago at a fuel stop. Loves can't, or won't, do a 17in wheel. So here at flat number 2, my boys took them both to a Walmart tire center. Now we wait til he returns.
Good news is I noticed when stopped and not at 68mph. And the weather is beautiful. My daughter and I are playing ladder ball while we wait.

Ah, the adventures of Road Trips. Keep on truckin.

So after Wall Drug and the good donuts and milkshakes there, we did the paved road thru the Badlands and then drove the Sheep Mountain Rd.
After the "normal" vehicle overlook, there is a sign stating only high clearance four wheel drive vehicles beyond this point. The trail goes another 2 miles past that sign. Jake and I looked at each other and said we are doing it. Don't think my mother-in-law was too thrilled about it, but the rest of us had fun. Nothing like doing a little light wheeling in the family truck...... I would sooooo do it again.

And pics of Jake hitting the mud holes that I mostly went around. Another pic from the trail and a pic of the mammoth dig site from yesterday's outing.

Today was the 1880 train from Keystone to Hill Side and back, Rushmore and Needles Highway - THAT was a cool drive thru some very tight tunnels in the rock.
