Un even rotor/pad wear

Normal, Factory calipers 73+ are the slider type. Single piston.
The inside pad will be thicker than the outboard pad when new because all the primary force is on the piston side of the caliper. That is the difference between single piston type and 4 piston type calipers and the way that they mount.
Single piston calipers are held onto the caliper mounting bracket with a flexible plate across the top allowing the caliper to float on the bracket.
4 piston calipers are rigid mounted to the caliper bracket and the pistons/pads are the only things that move and are centered over the rotor and the pads are usually equal thickness inside and outside.
Factory brakes are economical, performance brakes are more complex, efficient and more expensive.
4 piston calipers have 2 pistons on either side of the rotor so the caliper pistons squeeze the rotor with relatively equal pressure on both sides of the rotor which gives more stopping force.
